MISSION STATEMENT
The Stirling Figure Skating Club is a sanctioned member of Skate Canada. It is our mission to provide professional skating instruction for the members of the community and surrounding area. We provide our community with a fun, friendly, welcoming and safe environment where they can develop their interests in the sport of skating. We want each skater to feel comfortable exploring his/her love of the ice, and provide various avenues for self-improvement, competition and exhibition to all our skaters. SKATE CANADA OVERVIEW “Skate Canada is the largest figure skating governing body in the world. Skate Canada provides standards and rules for the figure skating activities of our members. The Association qualifies and appoints judges, referees and other officials, conducts training seminars for skaters and coaches, provides financial support to national team athletes and disseminates information concerning figure skating to the general public. The Stirling District Skate Club is sanctioned by Skate Canada and is a member of the Skate Ontario. Skaters from beginner to advanced work hard all year to develop their skills. For many, the season ends with a bang as all our skaters perform in our year-end Showcase. The Skate Ontario CanSkate Excellence recognition program is designed to reward Ontario Clubs/Skating schools that are implementing best practices in the delivery of their CanSkate programs. This three-tiered recognition program acknowledges clubs working to meet the CanSkate delivery standards, identifies clubs who meet the standards, and highlight those who exceed them.
Stirling Figure Skating Club is PROUD to have been awarded EXCEEDED STANDARD. Check out Skate Ontario's website to find out the standards we live up to when delivering our CanSkate program. |
